June 16, 2019 Hajime and Nagito got married at Jabberwockās Central Island church. The church was beautiful, with a large garden where the ceremony took place.
Hajime stumbled over his words when they exchanged their vows. The guilt was still fresh in his mind, and he felt ashamed to make promises now when he hadnāt been able to keep it before. Nagito simply smiled and held Hajimeās hands tighter in reassurance. When it was time to seal the vow with a kiss, Nagito didnāt wait. He leaned in first and pressing a gentle kiss before Hajime returned and deepened the kiss.
Unlike Makoto and Kyokoās wedding, their wedding was quiet without papparrazi hounding them. Class 77 and 78 alumni hadnāt meet up for some time and had a lot to catch up so the newlyweds left the reception early to let the guests party by themselves.
When Nagito showed Hajime their wedding car earlier, he thought it was way too flashy.
An open-hood sports car with a big āJust Marriedā sign and strings of tin cans tied to the back. Apparently, Nagito watched a lot of old western film as a child, so this had been his idea of a wedding ever since he was little.
Recently boats that were big enough to transport cars between island had started operating, so Nagito drove Hajime around, from island to island for a while.
People, even strangers were congratulating them, and the loud clatter of the cans made sure the entire island knew that they had just gotten married.

Nagito took care of everything for the honeymoon (and most of the wedding too) because he had free time after retiring from Future Foundation. He kept his plans mostly secret. Hajime knew travel options were limited because of air traffic restrictions and tourism still hadnāt recovered anyway, but he was still excited to see where Nagito would take him. He had gotten sick from looking at the dense rows of buildings on Fifth Island.
The car stopped in front of a fairly large beach house on the First Island. Hajime vaguely remembered this area had been under construction since last year and hadnāt been open to the public.

āI built this house is for you, Hajime. Weāre going to live here as newlyweds!ā Nagito said it so casually.
It took Hajime some time to process it. How did he afford it? Money is nearly worthless these days and places unaffected by riot and pollution must be outrageously expensive. Besides, isnāt Jabberwock owned by the government? Wait this house⦠is for him?
His train of thoughts was interrupted by Nagito.
āCarry me to our love nest, Hajime.ā

Hajime carried Nagito over the threshold, and they spent their honeymoon and built their whole life there together. ā¤

As soon as Hajime set him down, Nagito eagerly grabbed his hand, practically dragging him along to tour their new home. Nagito led him to the corridor that was connecting the entryway and the main part of the house.
One side of the corridor was lined with tall windows that could open all the way. They were open now, letting in gentle breeze and scent of the sea.
The view from the corridor was also phenomenal. The house was located in a bay, so close to the sea that the view of crystal clear green sea streched out unobstructed.
Hajime was mesmerized for a while. Nagito watched him with a gentle smile before Hajimeās expression turned into conflict.
Hajime apologized for how badly he had stumbled through his vows. Nagito didnāt mind, anyone would have assumed he was just nervous. The guests were entertained by his struggle anyway. But still, Hajime asked if they could try again.
This time, his words were steady. His eyes stayed fixated on Nagitoās. His hand gripped Nagitoās firm. They sealed it with another kiss, longer and deeper than before, and consummated their marriage right there in the corridor.

Some time after their honeymoon Hajime and Nagito renovated their home.
The vacant master bedroom was a large room full of windows, which they turned into a study with large library connected to a sun room. They didnāt use the master bedroom because Hajime wanted the smaller, more private room to become their bedroom. As a compromise, Nagito got to built an open bath that he really wanted. Hajime did complain that there would be neighbors in the future but Nagito informed Hajime that it wouldnāt be a problem since he had also purchased the surrounding area.
Took place six years after their marriage. After Nagito fell from the laader when he was cleaning the bookshelf, his mind reverted to the simulation self (ch 5 nagito) where he hated Hajime.
