🔁 Future Foundation - Hope’s Peak Exchange

ko204.png

January 15, 2016 It’s been more than a year since the Tragedy ended. Future Foundation and Hope’s Peak were being rebuilt from the damage it had suffered.

An agreement was made between the two organizations:

Kyoko Kirigiri was assigned to Future Foundation for two weeks month to assist with restructuring. In exchange, Hajime and Nagito were sent to Hope’s Peak to cover Kyoko in her absence.

Hajime was assigned to assist the reconstruction of Hope’s Peak School Building and Facilities. He also took over Kyoko’s role as class 79 homeroom teacher. Meanwhile Nagito was assigned to take over Kyoko’s Vice President role, which mostly act as Makoto’s assistant and liaison for Hope’s Peak.

Hajime admired Hope’s Peak in the past, but now it’s just a place that carried painful memories. He hesitated, but there was something he needed to do there, so he decided to go.

They received a flashy welcome from Ibuki and Hiyoko. The two had formed a duo and still spent much of their time at Hope’s Peak, even though they were not students or teachers.

Due to a shortage of capable instructors for the Ultimates, Nekomaru had taken on multiple roles of gym teacher, extracurricular teacher, and counselor.

Akane lived and volunteered at nearby orphanage for children who lost their family during the tragedy. She often stopped by Hope’s Peak to visit.

Teruteru had been released from jail not long ago and was working as a cook for Hope’s Peak in the meantime.

:chiakispin: Hajime’s Closure

Hajime and Nagito visited the memorial for the victims of the killing games to pay their respect. The survivors had built it in memory of their fallen friends, including Chiaki.

On Chiaki’s altar, Hajime put her hairpin, the only thing left of her, and a chip containing the AI that took the form of Chiaki, which he recovered while reverse engineering Neo World Program.

🏫 Class 79

Compared to Kyoko whose got an overwhelming charisma, Hajime looked more ordinary so the students refused to listen to him. Moreover since his identity was protected, everyone knew him just as a regular person and not someone who possessed every talent.

🏫Life at Hope’s Peak

ko204_4444.png

Compared to the rigid Future Foundation, Hope’s Peak felt chaotic despite not having many people.

Hajime’s students gave him a hard time, but watching these promising young students reminded him of what Hope’s Peak stood for, and gave him hope for its future.

Outside of classes, he helped with the reconstruction of Hope’s Peak, taking part in both the planning and the physical labor.

Through it all, Nagito sensed Hajime’s worry and did his best to comfort and encourage him in his own way. He was always the one to approach Hajime first, checking in on Hajime, tagging along, or simply keeping Hajime’s company.

Being with his friend and living normally helped ease Hajime’s worries. Hope’s Peak gradually feel less like a weight of the past for him.
